Cinven has signed an agreement with Sika AG to acquire MBCC Admixtures, a global manufacturer of concrete admixtures, as well as other sustainable products for the construction industry. No financial details of the transaction were disclosed.

MBCC Admixtures is headquartered in Mannheim, Germany. The business operates under the Master Builders brand.

Cinven’s acquisition of MBCC Admixtures builds on its expertise in the admixtures market through its investment in Chryso, according to a release.

The transaction is expected to be completed in the first half of this year, subject to regulatory approval.

“We are confident that Cinven’s successful prior experience of investing in the admixtures sector and its strong track record in carve-outs from companies in the Industrials sector in Europe will allow us to create significant opportunities for MBCC Admixtures as an independent business,” said Anthony Cardona, partner at Cinven.

Cinven, since 2020, has completed the carve-outs of TK Elevator from thyssenkrupp AG, Arxada from Lonza Group AG, and Envu from Bayer AG, the release added.

Cinven is an international private equity firm headquartered in London, and has offices in Frankfurt, New York, Madrid, Milan, Luxembourg, and Guernsey.
