Partners Group will fully exit 731.5 MW Dutch offshore windfarm Borssele III / IV after agreeing to sell its final 10 percent stake to Octopus Energy Generation.
During Partners’ holding period, Borssele reached full operational status and implemented several value creation initiatives, alongside other shareholders, according to a release.
Partners Group will fully exit from the original 45 percent stake it acquired in June 2018 post the completion of the latest sale.
Partners Group sold a 20 percent stake to Swiss Life Asset Managers in November 2022 and 15 percent to funds managed by Nuveen Infrastructure in July 2023.
“As a fully operational windfarm, Borssele is positioned to make a meaningful contribution towards decarbonisation goals in the Netherlands,” said David Daum, MD, co-head private infrastructure Europe, Partners Group.
Borssele’s new shareholder group will include Shell, Eneco, INPEX, Luxcara, Swiss Life Asset Managers, Glennmont Partners from Nuveen, and Octopus Energy Generation.
The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals.
Borssele, which began operations in 2021, is a windfarm located 55km from the Port of Vlissingen in the Netherlands. It generates 3,000GWh of energy annually, which can power around 825,000 Dutch households.
