Wise Equity announced on Wednesday that it has reached an agreement to acquire OneTag. The Wisequity V fund will acquire a 55% stake with OneTag’s founding partners reinvesting to hold a 45% stake.

Wise Equity’s purchase of the programmatic advertising company is the seventh investment made by the Wisequity V Fund. Following this investment, Wisequity V Fund has invested around 77% of its commitments of €260 million. PE Hub Europe previously reported on the firm’s acquisition of Italian design and production company Almac.

Milan-Headquartered OneTag posted revenues of €18 million in 2021 and that figure is expected to more than quadruple in 2022. OneTag’s founding partners will be actively involved in the business’s management and growth.

“Programmatic advertising is part of a complex ecosystem, characterised by frequent change and rapid disruption,” said Ilaria Montefusco, investment manager at Wise Equity. “We believe that OneTag has the necessary assets to turn future challenges into opportunities, as they did in recent years, with an incredible ability to anticipate market needs and turn them into new technology offerings.”

Wise Equity is a Milan-based private equity firm investing in Italian SMEs. The firm was founded in 2000. To date the firm has invested approximately €650 million.
