Abris Capital Partners announced on Wednesday that its portfolio company GreenGroup has acquired SIGAD, a Romanian developer of environmental reporting software.
The acquisition is part of GreenGroup’s ‘Circular Innovations’ division launch. This division will invest in start-ups and scale-ups with the aim to develop the circular economy in Europe.
Based in Buzău, Romania, GreenGroup is an integrated recycling group and circular economy enabler. The company has been majority owned by Abris Capital Partners, a Warsaw, Poland-headquartered private equity firm, since 2016.
GreenGroup’s new acquisition, SIGAD, is a Bucharest-based developer of environmental reporting software. SIGAD’s systems allow companies to improve their resource management and environmental performance.
“The launch of this new division supports a broad investment programme of GreenGroup, coordinated by Abris, that aims to strengthen the Group’s position as the regional leader in the circular economy,” commented Adrian Stănculescu, partner and head of Abris Romania. “Circular Innovations capitalises on the momentum, as many entrepreneurs are steering their efforts and businesses towards sustainable development through innovative solutions. Furthermore, supporting businesses that contribute to reducing carbon footprints is an important pillar of Abris’ ESG strategy for the coming years.”
“At a time when environmental protection has become a priority for governments and European institutions, this partnership with GreenGroup grants us access to the necessary investments and the experience of the largest recycling group in the region, backed by Abris, allowing us to benefit from rapid growth in the Romanian market and beyond,” said Andrei Dobrin, SIGAD’s founder.
