Ambienta announced on Thursday that it has bought a majority stake in Lässig, a producer of sustainable products for babies, children and families with sales in the DACH region as well as other European markets.
Lässig makes products such as bags, accessories and apparel. It was founded in 2006 by Claudia and Stefan Lässig, who will retain a stake . Lässig employs over 100 people and is based in Babenhausen, Germany.
Lässig is on a strong growth track, according to Ambienta, and has started expanding in other European markets like France and the Benelux. Ambienta will support the company’s internationalisation. The firm will also drive the digitalisation of sales, processes and operations.
“With its strong and engrained commitment to sustainability and its successful strategy of growth and international expansion, Lässig is an ideal fit for Ambienta,” said Hans Haderer, partner, at Ambienta with responsibility for the DACH region.
Ambienta is a private equity firm headquartered in Milan. The firm was founded in 2007 and manages over €3 billion in assets. The firm is focused on investing in private and public companies driven by environmental megatrends.
