American Industrial Partners to take Veoneer’s Restraint Control Systems biz

Veoneer, an automotive technology company, has entered into an agreement with American Industrial Partners (AIP), for the acquisition of Veoneer’s Restraint Control Systems business from SSW Partners.

Stockholm-headquartered Veoneer’s products are part of more than 40 scheduled vehicle launches in 2023, according to a press release. Its products are used to mitigate the effects of car crashes. In 2022, the company had sales of approximately $800 million.

SSW acquired Veoneer in an all-cash transaction representing a total equity value of $4.6 billion in April 2022.

AIP is a middle market private equity firm that currently manages over $16 billion on behalf of its limited partners. The firm is based in New York.
