Ardian has agreed to acquire 100 percent of Verne Global, a data centre platform, from Digital 9 Infrastructure (D9).
Ardian will support the company’s management team, led by CEO Dominic Ward, to deliver a expansion plan in the Nordics, according to a release.
Verne Global’s northern European data centre platform has five data centre campuses in London, Iceland and Finland. Most of its data centres are powered by renewable energy.
The closing of the transaction is expected by the end of Q1 of 2024.
“With Ardian’s support, Verne is well positioned to capitalise on global digitalisation trends such as the accelerating use of AI and machine learning,” said Gonzague Boutry, William Briggs and Pauline Thomson, infrastructure team, Ardian.
Ardian is a private investment house that manages $156 billion of assets. It is based in Paris.
