Bregal Unternehmerkapital announced that it has bought a majority stake in German software provider Medavis. The company offers tailored software packages focused on imaging techniques to doctors, specialist medical personnel and patients and works with radiological practices and clinical departments across the DACH region to improve workflow optimization, process integration and networking.
Medavis, headquartered in Karlsruhe, has a market share of approximately 20 percent and is finding that demand for digitisation across all its end markets is growing, according to Bregal.
The deal will focus on the further expansion of the company’s position in the core radiological information systems market. The company will expand across geographical locations and intends to strategically enlarge into neighbouring business areas.
Bregal Unternehmerkapital was founded in 2015 and manages €4 billion in assets under management. It looks to invest in medium-sized companies in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and northern Italy on a long-term basis. It is headquartered in Munich.
