EQT and CK Hutchison, Wind Tre’s owner, have decided to terminate the transaction to form an integrated wholesale mobile and fixed communications company in Italy.

The decision owes to conditions precedent to closing not being satisfied by an agreed longstop date of 12 February, according to a release.

With the termination of this transaction, EQT Infrastructure VI is expected to be 25-30 percent invested (including closed and/or signed investments, announced public offers, if applicable, and less any expected syndication) based on target fund size.

EQT Infrastructure will continue to explore alternative infrastructure transactions, including with CK Hutchison should the appropriate opportunity arise, the release said.
