GI Partners announced that Matt Barker has joined GI Data Infrastructure as a managing director to lead digital infrastructure investing in Europe. Barker will be based in London.
Barker’s previous role was a partner with 3i Infrastructure, where he led numerous digital infrastructure investments in multiple European countries.
GI Data Infrastructure is a sector-focused value-add infrastructure investment strategy, which invests in data transport, data centre, wireless access, and tech-enabled infrastructure operating companies. According to GI Partners, the San Francisco, California-based firm has been investing in the data infrastructure sector, primarily in North America, since the firm’s founding in 2001.
