HIG Capital announced the acquisition of Onis Visa, a pan-European operator in the design, assembly and sale of generating sets and motor pumps. The investment will be made in partnership with the Barro family, who founded the company in 1960. The family will retain the management positions in the company.
Onis Visa, based in Fontanelle, Italy, is present in over 100 countries with a range of generators from 2 up to 2,500 kVA of power and with a wide range of motor pumps. The firm said it has established itself as a “reference producer” for several target markets, including industrial, construction, healthcare, agriculture, data centre, telecommunications and large-scale distribution.
“We are excited to support the management in the next phase of development, aimed at developing environmentally friendly solutions and aimed at international markets, and we believe we can make a significant contribution to its success, primarily through an acceleration of the strategy of targeted acquisitions that the group has undertaken in the last years,” said Raffaele Legnani, managing director and head of HIG in Italy.
HIG Capital is a Miami, Florida–based private equity and alternative assets investment firm with $52 billion of equity capital under management.
