Innova Capital to acquire majority stake in R-GOL

R-GOL is a multi-brand distributor of football merchandise in Central and Eastern Europe.

Innova Capital to acquire a majority stake in R-GOL, a distributor of specialised equipment for football enthusiasts, professionals, and football clubs in Central and Eastern Europe.

No financial details of the transaction were disclosed.

R-GOL is headquartered in Ostróda, Poland and employs more than 150 people. The company expects about PLN 250 million (€56.28 million; $61.43 million) in revenue.

Marcin Radziwon, R-GOL’s founder, will continue as CEO and shareholder.

R-GOL is the second transaction financed from Innova/7 fund.

R-GOL sees potential for add-on acquisitions both in the football category and in related disciplines, according to a release.

“We see potential in the consolidation of the market in the region, and the growing popularity of football among women may also help the company to grow,” said Lukasz Cyran, MD at Innova Capital.

Innova Capital is an independent private equity adviser operating from Poland and investing in majority buyouts in mid-sized enterprises doing business in Central and Eastern Europe. The firm is based in Warsaw.
