Innova Capital to take majority stake in Netopia Group

• Netopia is Innova’s first transaction to be executed via Innova/7 fund

Innova Capital will acquire a majority stake in Netopia Group, a Romanian payment services provider.

No financial details of the transaction were disclosed.

Netopia Group is based in Bucharest.

This investment will enable Innova to expand its presence in the local financial services market, according to a release.

“We want to leverage our experience and know-how in the implementation of financial services to support NETOPIA’s growth and further strengthen its position in the Romanian payment solutions market,” said Krzysztof Kulig, senior partner at Innova Capital.

Innova’s investment in Netopia is the first transaction to be executed via Innova/7 fund, the release added.

The transaction will be completed after receiving regulatory approvals.

Innova Capital is an independent private equity advisor, operating from Poland and investing in majority buyouts in mid-sized enterprises with activities in Central and Eastern Europe. The firm is based in Warsaw.
