Innova Capital’s EMI Group to buy access automation service provider Kadra

EMI and Kadra will continue independent operations as separate legal entities.

EMI Group, backed by Innova Capital, will acquire Kadra, a Romanian integrated service provider for automation and access management.

Kadra is based in Timisoara. It has an estimated combined turnover of €38 million and over €8 million EBITDA for 2023.

EMI and Kadra will continue independent operations as separate legal entities, maintaining their identity, according to a release.

“By bringing Kadra and its Founders to EMI Group family, we continue to execute on our consolidation strategy in the access systems sector,” said Jérôme France, CEO of EMI Group. “We continue our pursuit of further partnerships in our core geographies, offering entrepreneurs continued operating autonomy with all the benefits of belonging to a large platform, with strong resources and financial backing from our partners at Innova Capital and Morphosis Capital.”

Innova acquired a 51 percent stake in EMI Group in July 2023 and Morphosis invested in the company in 2021.

The investment will enable optimisation of resources, utilisation of field technicians and improved service quality for their clients, the release said. The partnership signals EMI’s commitment to expansion in Central and Eastern Europe through strategic acquisitions of valuable companies, it said.

This acquisition is the third partnership for EMI Group in less than two years.

Innova is an independent private equity adviser operating from Poland and investing in majority buyouts in mid-sized enterprises doing business in Central and Eastern Europe. The firm is based in Warsaw.

Bucharest, Romania-based EMI Group is an industrial access maintenance service provider to logistics and industrial buildings.
