Main Capital-backed Oribi Groep buys Certwell

Oribi Groep, backed by Main Capital Partners, has acquired Certwell, a certificate and compliance firm in access management. No financial details of the transaction were disclosed.

Certwell, headquartered in Eindhoven, Netherlands, offers a range of compliance and certificate services.

Certwell’s certificate management expertise will enable Oribi to provide a comprehensive set of identity and access management products to its customers, according to a release.

Main Capital Partners invested in Oribi in 2021. This investment marks Oribi’s third add-on acquisition since its partnership with Main Capital.

“Certwell’s solution significantly reduces security risks and allows customers to be compliant with laws and regulations at the same time,” said Ivo van Deudekom, investment director at Main. “We therefore expect strong growth towards the future.”

Oribi’s acquisitions in 2022 include SmartAIM and JanusID.

Oribi Groep, based in Oisterwijk, the Netherlands, is a provider of identity & access management software. The firm has offices in Oisterwijk, Houten, and the Hague and employs 50 people.

The Hague-based Main Capital is a strategic software investor in Northwestern Europe and the Nordics. The firm manages over €2.2 billion in assets and has offices in the Hague, Stockholm, Düsseldorf, Antwerp, and an affiliate office in Boston.
