Mutares has signed an agreement to acquire the entire Danish and Serbian businesses, and the Polish bus services, of Arriva Group. The deal is expected to close in Q4 2022. Arriva is owned by Deutsche Bahn but is a multinational public transport company headquartered in Sunderland, England.
The Danish business, Arriva Denmark, additionally offers rail and water transport services as well as car sharing under the franchise Share Now. Combined, the three companies generate approximately €400 million in revenues.
“The business model of Arriva is very promising as we see the demand for urban mobility concepts increasing, driven by the continuing trend for urbanisation and a more sustainable way of transportation,” said Johannes Laumann, CIO of Mutares.
Mutares is a private equity company based in Munich. PE Hub Europe covered Mutares’ eighth acquisition when it bought Sirti Energia from Pillarstone.
