Palatine Private Equity portfolio company Cura Terrae announced on Monday that its group company Envirocare has acquired Nottingham-based SI Environment. SI Environmental provides businesses with air, dust and fume monitoring, noise monitoring, hand and arm vibration monitoring and local exhaust ventilation examination and testing services. Sheffield-based Cura Terrae is backed by investment from Palatine’s Impact Fund. The deal was backed by Shawbrook Bank.

Envirocare has bought SI Environmental to strengthen its expanding occupational hygiene and environmental monitoring teams around the UK. SI Environmental will work alongside Envirocare’s teams in Bradford (where the occupational hygiene company is headquartered), Brackley and East Kilbride.

“The formation of Cura Terrae has given our businesses a unique opportunity to grow and expand, in terms of the services they offer, the expertise and resources at their fingertips, their geographical coverage, and the quality of their customer service,” said Peter Skipworth, CEO of Cura Terrae. “I’m really pleased that our flagship occupational hygiene company, Envirocare, has acquired SI Environmental, and it’s another valuable addition to our family tree, complementing our shared mission to offer services and solutions to help take care of the Earth, and help our clients work towards a more sustainable future.”

“This is a significant and exciting development for Envirocare,” said John Healey, managing director of Envirocare. “We look forward to welcoming SI staff and growing our teams. Their market reputation was a particular draw for us, aligning well with our focus on quality of service and customer care. For existing Envirocare customers it means we have a larger pool of knowledge, experience and resources to draw upon to provide continually reliable and high-quality occupational hygiene services, with expanded UK coverage.”

Palatine is a Manchester-headquartered private equity and venture capital firm. It has two funds, Buyout and Impact. It was founded in 2005 and has ESG at the core of its investment philosophy.
