Pioneer Point Partners has agreed to acquire Esken Renewables, a sustainable waste-derived biomass fuel supplier, for £108 million ($131 million; €124 million).
Widnes, UK-based Esken Renewables is a wholly owned subsidiary of Esken, a infrastructure company. It supplies 1.7 million tonnes of fuel to the UK biomass sector under long-term contracts.
Pioneer will invest in the company via its Pioneer Infrastructure Partners SCSp fund.
The fund has completed seven investments and it held a €575 million final close in February 2022.
