Waterland takes majority stake in Cumbria Waste Group

Waterland Private Equity has acquired a majority stake in Cumbria Waste Group (CWG).

CWG comprises Cumbria Waste Management, Cumbria Waste Recycling and Lakeland Waste Management. The company is based in Carlisle, England.

CWG is the largest provider of waste disposal and recycling services in Cumbria, serving over 5,000 customers across the region, according to a press release.

Waterland plans to invest in the organisation’s infrastructure and operations, helping CWG with its future regional growth plans, creating additional job opportunities and wider economic and environmental benefits, the release added.

The deal has no impact on the council’s household waste and recycling collections or staff.

Waterland is an independent private equity investment firm based in Bussum, the Netherlands.
